How did Blue Mountain Lacrosse get its name?

Blue Mountain is a geographical mountain that extends from the Poconos to North-Central Maryland  through Pennsylvania; it divides the Appalacian Mountain Range from the lower valleys of South-Central and Southeastern Pennsylvania.

Blue Mountain Lacrosse started as an organization assigned to take team(s) to the Pennsylvania Keystone Games competition, in particular players from the Lancaster Lebanon and Berks Counties.

Today, Blue Mountain offers student-athletes the chance to develop and compete on the highest level of club lacrosse in the country; we take pride in developing and providing opportunities for our student athletes to compete against the best players and teams in the United States and Canada, helping our players ready to play at the next level in college.

Blue Mountain Lacrosse also takes great pride in developing young coaches and helping all coaches who become involved with Blue Mountain become better stewards and teachers of the game.

Here's how Wikipedia describes the geographical area called Blue Mountain:

Weather Notices and Updates

Will be posted on the Blue Mtn Facebook and Twitter pages, as well as the Blue Mtn Webpage; normally will post notice around 12N-1pm, and update around 4:30pm.

Competition Counts

Every player on our rosters has the opportunity to change the evaluation rating they earned in March, when we start practicing in June.   Our rosters are dynamic and competitive...we don't base our tournament invitations on who played well in March...we want to see how competitive your son plays in June and July!

Player Practice Needs

1. Bring your own Reversible Jersey, wear shorts, cleats and make sure you have a water bottle.  Our Uniform Packages are in!  This means that tonight, we will begin handing out uniform orders.  You are allowed to put on your new uniforms if you like, but please bring your lacrosse bag in order to safely store your uniform package items that your not wearing!

2. Bring your own water bottle(s) .

3. Please put your name on the helmet.   Some of our new coaching staff may not know your name, so its important that you have your name taped to the front of your helmet.

4.  Clean up your empty water bottles :  Trash cans are at the lacrosse shed, or you can take them home with you.  I get fined for litter by the Township; so if you hear me giving you notice, please understand I don't want fined, and don't want the Township to consider that we are not taking care of the facility.

Where are Blue Mountain Lacrosse Players? Past, Present & Future

Blue Mtn's Trey Keeley gets a new gig as Ohio Wesleyan University Assistant Coach!

Blue Mtn's Trey Keeley has accepted an assistant coaching position with  Ohio Weslyan University, a NCAA Division III Lacrosse program with a rich history of success.

Trey graduated from Conestoga Valley High School, Roanoke College, and just earned his MBA from Frostburg State University working as a graduate assistant lacrosse coach while attending school.

Trey was a Division III All-American at Roanoke College, and served as a coach with Blue Mtn Lacrosse since he was a freshman in college.  Trey played for the Blue Mtn Lacrosse program as a high school student and has been an integral part of helping the Central PA area players grow and develop their game as a Blue Mtn coach and Program Director of 717 Lacrosse .

Congratulations Trey!  I know many people who are not only proud of you, but very happy with you moving forward in your coaching career.  You are a great coach!  OWU made a great decision!

OWU has a prestigious coaching history too.  Current Bryant University and former Duke University lacrosse coach Mike Pressler started his head coaching career at OWU and turned it into a top Division III program while he was there.

Congratulations to Our 2014 Champions!

Blue Mtn Players gain Summer Slam All-Star Honors

Congrats to: 2016 Goalie Jack Marks (Dallastown), and 2015 LSM Joel Skinner (Elizabethtown), Goalie Cam Epple (Warwick), Midfielders Tommy Ferguson (Berks Catholic) and Dylan Gillisse (Hempfield).

Central PA Pride! Elevate your Game, and Elevate your Region!

2014 Tewaarton Award Nominee and Cabrini 's Corey Elmer has been awarded NCAA DIII Player of the Year (Blue Mtn and Conrad Weiser alum); one many Central PA HS players proving you don't need to go "Philly" in the summer to become great or get recruited!

Corey originally was recruited and attended Division I Robert Morris University, and transferred to Cabrini after his first semester.

Congrats Corey for keeping the path to success open for Central PA players in the future!

Kyle Watkins selects St. Leo University!

Wilson-West Lawn HS's stealthy defender Kyle Watkins selects St. Leo University to study business administration and play lacrosse!  The Lions of St. Leo University compete in the NCAA Division II Sunshine State Conference and are coached by Brad Jorgensen .

Kyle had a great 2013 summer with Blue Mtn, helping his team to a 43-8-2 record against some of the best competition in the nation.  Kyle helped anchor a stingy Blue Mtn Premier defense at Summer Sizzle, as we finished in 2nd place in that tourney to go 8-1, and losing in the finals in OT, 5-4, to the Long Island Ballers.  At the PA Keystone Games, Kyle's athleticism and stealth (speed, agility and strength) helped his team to a Bronze Medal, losing only one game in the State tournament by just one goal, finishing with a 7-1 record.

Kyle is quiet and determined, but don't let that fool you on the lacrosse field as he can play the field with anyone.  This past Fall, he thought he might play football in college, but his heart has him focusing nowadays on becoming a great lacrosse player in college.  After a superb summer of Blue Mtn and a great Wilson-West Lawn run into the state high school lacrosse playoffs this Spring, the game of lacrosse will get Kyle's great athletic ability.

Kyle write's:   I just wanted to say thank you so much for the help that you've given me over the past year or so.  I know I was only a one year player with Blue Mountain, but I will forever be grateful for what you have done for me in that year. I'm not sure if you have been made aware yet or not but I will be attending Saint Leo University to play lacrosse. Going south was always a dream of mine and I have you to thank for making that happen! Again, thank you so much, you did more than I ever could have asked for.

Congratulations Kyle!

2013 BlueMtn-PA Keystone HS Team wins Bronze Medal

The 2013 Blue Mtn Keystone Games HS team sought gold, but came away with the Bronze Medal at Penn State University.  Only going down in defeat once during the entire tournament, and in that defeat losing only by a goal, the Blue Mtn-Keystone HS team made their coaches proud of their great effort and heart, and will to work their game.

Blue Mountain made it to the semi-finals with a 6-0-1 record, dropping a 3-2 contest with a very good York Co. team in a great battle in the semifinal matchup.  In the contest, York midfielder Colin George (also of Blue Mtn), scored 2 goals against the Blue Mtn-Keystone team. Blue Mtn then faced Delaware Co. in the Brnze Medal game, with Blue winning a hard fought battle 9-8 OT victory to claim the Bronze medal.

Lehigh Valley won the Gold medal over Silver medalist York Co., 7-5.

This tournament also marked the inaugeral 5th/6th grade (Youth) division.  Blue Mtn's 5th/6th grade team was 2-2 in the tournament pool play and dropped a 9-8 decision to Lehigh Valley in the Bronze medal contest.  After the game, Coach Adams summed up the team's first Keystone Games experience perfectly acknowledging defeat, but also clarifying the team's heart, and ability to battle and get better through the tournament play.

The 7th/8th grade squad finished the tournament with a 3-3 record, but challenged all but one of the Keystone Games squads throughout their tournament play.
