Harrison Manning, Penn Manor's slick, outstanding attackman, has made the decision to attend Davidson College in North Carolina for his post secondary education and play lacrosse for the Wildcats. As a college club team, Davidson is in the Southeastern Lacrosse Conference (SELC) of the Men's College Lacrosse Association(MCLA).
Fuji Lozada is an anthropology professor at Davidson; originally from Roslyn, Long Island, Fuji played lacrosse in high school and in college at Division I Harvard in the 1980s.
Harrison Manning helped anchor an excellent offense for the Blue Mountain Lacrosse teams 2011 Gold Medal Championship, leading his team in total points for the Keystone Games. His skills and athleticism helped make our team's offense impossible to contend with during the Keystone Games this past summer of 2011!
Congratulations Harry!
Wilson's outstanding dual threat attackman Ryan Glass has decided to attend Penn State University, and is not planning on contnuing to play lacrosse in college.
Ryan helped lead the 2011 Blue Mountain Lacrosse team to a Gold Medal championship at the PA Keystone Games and was an exceptional attackman for us. His skills, and enthusiasm to learn was such a valuable asset to our team.
Ryan writes: I just wanted to thank you for a great summer of lacrosse. Blue Mountain is far superior in many aspects then some of the other club teams I have played for. This summer all of the coaches including yourself helped make me a much better player then I was prior to playing Blue Mountain.
On behalf of our coaching staff Ryan, we wish you a great senior season with Wilson HS, and best wishes with your college selection and academic/career plans!
Outstanding Elizabethtown midfielder Bryce Mrakovich has selected Liberty College as his choice for his post secondary education and to play lacrosse. Currently the Liberty College Flames play in the MCLA Div II for 2012, but will move to the MCLA Div I for the Spring 2013 season. Liberty College men's lacrosse is coached by Kyle McQuillan.
Bryce Mrakovich has an impressive resume of high school and club lacrosse success. The talented midfielder was heavily recruited at the Div III NCAA level, but in the end chose to play lacrosse for the school he wanted to attend.
Bryce helped lead the 2011 PA Keystone Games team to the Gold Medal as well as helped the 2011 Champ Camp team to an impressive tally this summer. One of Bryce's most memorable goals came in the 2011 PA Keystone Games champoinship game against York Co. when he dodged and weaved around three York College defenders and shot while falling forward after being checked from behind. Bryce's shot found net and helped seal the deal with his inspiring work that broke the opponent's spirit.
Bryce's athletic and lacrosse talent will certainly be enjoyed at Liberty College as well as his great personality and off the field leadership.
Congratulations Bryce!
Ephrata's outstanding midfielder Tucker Keefer has commited to Elizabethtown College and will play for the Division III Blue Jays in the MAC Conference for Head Coach Terry Corcoran.
Tucker will bring superb decision-making skills while under pressure to the Jays, great stick skills, and excellent speed/quickness/agility that makes him very elusive in a crowd and in the open field. His ability to help create and finish plays is a hallmark of his skill set, and his field sense is second to none which will translate well to the college level. Maybe Tucker's best asset on the lacrosse field is his ability to persevere under pressure; he's just a mentally tough prospect on the field.
Tucker has played Blue Mtn since his U15 years in which he helped Blue Mtn's MS team to their only Gold Medal to date at the PA Keystone Games in 2008! In his sophomore and junior summer, he helped the Blue Mtn program as a superb two-way midfielder with our top Champ Camp teams and our PA Keystone Gold Medal Championships (2010 and 2011).
Make sure you catch Tucker in action during his senior year at Ephrata! You'll enjoy watching a very skilled, tough midfielder in action!
Congratulations Tucker!
Conestoga standout defender Zach Shelly has committed to Bridgewater College to major in Mathematics and Computer Science, and play lacrosse. The Bridgewater Eagles are a Division III program that plays in the ODAC Conference, and are coached by Mic Grant.
Over the years with Blue Mountain, Zach worked hard to move up the depth chart of our defensive units. Steadily he improved to where he became an excellent defender who consistently made the right plays as well as created opportunties for his team and gained first team status. Zach helped his 2011 PA Keystone Games U19 team to the Gold Medal and competed on our top Champ Camp team this summer.
Zach writes: I have committed to play lacrosse for Bridgewater College. It was a long but exciting process and in the end Bridgewater was the best fit for me, academically and for lacrosse. Of the many opportunities I had, one of the things that led me to choose Bridgewater was the idea of being a part of an inaugural program and the opportunity to play all 4 years. I am excited about playing for Coach Grant and the Eagles. I plan on majoring in Mathematics and Computer Science.
I would like to thank you for the privilege of being a part of Blue Mountain for the past 5 summers. I hope you realize what an impact you have had on my life. The experiences I have had, and the friends I have made will remain with me for the rest of my life. The skills that I learned have helped to prepare me to play at the
next level, an opportunity that I truly believe I would not have had without Blue Mountain. Thank you for challenging me and encouraging me to strive to become the best lacrosse player I could be. After thinking about all of the tournaments I have played in for Blue Mountain, I would have to say the two that I will definitely never forget would be winning Gold at the 2011 Keystone games and the Blue
Mountain vs Duke game at Champ Camp. I would also like to thank Coach
Ondrusek, Coach Piper and the rest of the Blue Mountain coaches.
Central Dauphin goalie Derek Bowman has selected King's College to attend school and play lacrosse. The King's College Monarchs are Division III school that plays within the MAC Conference and is coached by Andy Orlowski.
Derek played for Blue Mountain for the first time this past summer. He was one of nine stellar goalies we had this summer with Blue Mtn. We were fortunate to have Derek play for us and we are grateful for his work this summer with us. He was simply a great young man and Blue Mtn wishes him the best as he pursues his goal to become a physicians assistant.
Derek writes: Thank you for the opportunity this past summer. With playing for Blue Mtn. and going to Camp 205 and working hard, I have committed to King's College to further my education and to play lacrosse. I will be majoring in Physician Assistant. King's is one of 3 colleges that offer the 5 year program.
Congatulations Derek!
Stellar defenseman Alex Pstrak has selected Messiah College to study and compete in lacrosse. The Messiah College Falcons compete in Division III within the MAC Conference and are coached by Geof Weisenborn.
Alex has been a starter for Ephrata's great defense for the past three or four years, and has been a solid defender for Blue Mountain over the past three summers/autumns. Alex has played for our top Champ Camp teams in 2010 and 2011, as well as help lead the Blue Mountain Keystone Game Gold Medal teams in 2010 and 2011. Fact is, Alex also was a integral part of our 2008 U15 Gold Medal team at the Keystone Games also.
Alex writes: I have made a verbal commitment to play lacrosse for Coach Geof Weisenborn at Messiah College. I chose Messiah for several reasons with the most important being that I plan to major in Biochemistry with the intention of eventually becoming a pharmacist. Messiah has a collaborative program with the University of the Sciences to which I will apply to earn my Doctor of Pharmacy degree. After visiting Messiah and spending an overnight with the team I felt that Messiah was the right choice for me. I plan to work hard both on and off the field to earn a starting position on Coach Weisenborn’s team. I like his coaching philosophy and feel that I will continue to mature with his guidance. My family is thrilled to be able to continue to attend my lacrosse games while playing for Messiah.
To Coach Bailey and Coach Ondrusek: I appreciate the great opportunity I had to advance my lacrosse skills while spending three summers as a member of the Blue Mountain Club team. Throughout those years I was privileged to have earned several Keystone Gold Medals as a member of the U15(2008), U19(2010) and U19(2011) teams. I believe that the coaches saw potential in my skills and mentored me to refine them, preparing me to play at the next level. I thank Coach Bailey, Coach Ondrusek and all the other coaches for challenging me to improve which in turn allowed me to take those skills and help my high school team toward successful seasons. I look forward to continuing my education while playing lacrosse at Messiah for Coach Weisenborn. Thanks for your encouragement over the years!
Congratulations Alex!
Standout defenseman Chris Ruger (LSM and Close) has selected Messiah College to study and compete in lacrosse. The Messiah Falcons compete in Division III within the MAC Conference and are coached by Geof Weisenborn.
Chris brings a ton of great tournament performances including the 2010 Keystone Games Gold Medal team, 2010 and 2011 Champ Camp teams, Summer Sizzle, and Ultimate Performance teams. Chris has anchored the L-S defense since ninth grade, has great athleticism and skills, and is able to create plays as a defender.
Perhaps Chris' most impressive quality is his commitment to helping others with his volunteer work with the church and his impressive academic work. Look for Chris' future to be filled with many leadership opportunities.
Chris writes: I'd like to thank you and Coach O especially, along with all of the other coaches for all that you have taught me throughout my career at Blue Mountain. I wouldn't be half the player I am without Blue Mountain. Blue Mountain has been great at getting me exposure to many college coaches, and is how I got to meet Coach Weisenborn. I will definitely miss all of the weekends at tournaments, coaches, and teammates that I'll leave behind at Blue Mountain, but I'm very excited to be moving on to the next level.
Congratulations Chris!
Ephrata midfielder Mason Quickel has committed to Misericordia University to major in sports management and minor in marketing. Mason will be playing for the Division III Misericordia University Cougars led by Coach Jim Ricardo. Misercordia competes in the MAC Conference.
Mason played for Blue Mtn this summer and was a great addition to our program. He has great speed and range, athleticism, and I would expect that Mason will really become an excellent college player as he learns to play within a specific system. He really improved over the summer as he was becoming comfortable learning a new system, and understanding what the system was about.
Mason suffered a devastating injury at Summer Sizzle, but true to form, Mason showed what a tough competitor he is by playing one week later at Champ Camp. Mason demonstrated to me that he will use that toughness to become a superb college player, and I will forewarn everyone, expect Mason to have a great senior season.
Mason writes: Thank you for everything you have done for me over the summer and fall lacrosse season. I could see my skills improve rapidly, and with the direction of the Blue Mountain program, I gained exposure from college coaches, including Coach Ricardo from Misericodia University. You and all the other coaches have taught me many things in such little time. Over the one season I played with Blue Mountain, I have learned how to be an all-around player on and off the field. It has been a great opportunity for me to learn how to improve my game and meet many new friends in the process.
Congratulations Mason!
Wilson HS's standout defender John Sullivan has committed to the Division III Widener University Pride and Coach Brendan Dawson.
John has been a part of the excellent defensive corp we have had at Blue Mtn over the past three years. John earned starting berths and helped anchor a skilled and stubborn Blue Mtn defense on the PA Keystone Games Gold Medal teams in both the summer of 2010 and 2011, as well as our top Blue Mtn Champ Camp teams. John's steady and consistent play, his attention to details, and his work ethic have made him an impressive HS player and an excellent prospect for the college level.
John writes: Thank you for the opportunity to play at such a high level the past 2 years. My parents and I are extremely grateful to you and all the other great coaches I played for at Blue Mountain. Playing for Blue Mountain has made me a much better player and teammate and allowed me to be recruited by many great schools. After playing for 2 other club teams, I can say proudly that Blue Mountain was and is the best around. I will miss the coaches and friends at Blue Mountain but leave with many great memories like winning the Gold at the Keystone Games 2 years in a row and having a great run at Champ Camp. Best of luck to Blue Mountain and to all the players coming up in the program. Thank You!
Congratulations Sully!
Warwick's premier goaltender Jake Watson has committed to Florida Tech University. Jake will join the Division II Florida Tech Panthers and Coach Ryan McAleavey at FIT, in the Fall of 2012.
Jake was named the 2010 MVP of the Keystone Games leading the 2010 Blue Mountain PA Keystones Games team to the Gold Medal at the summer competition at PSU, as well as the 2011 Philadelphia Indoor Lacrosse Championships in the Winter of 2011 (playing for Low and Away) with many of his Blue Mountain teammates.
Jake is an outstanding goaltender and will be a great addition to the Florida Tech Panthers.
Jake writes: I was very impressed with Coach McAleavey and the team last weekend. I am excited to go down there and play next year. I just wanted to say thanks for all your help. Everything I have learned about how a defense should operate I have learned from you and the Blue Mountain staff. My development as a goalie is due to the hard work you and the all the coaches have put into the program. Furthermore, my greastest lacrosse memories come from my Blue Mountain experiences. I will always cherish winning the goal medal at the Keystone games. Without your knowledge and effort, I would not be where I am today.
Congratulations Jake!
Ephrata standout attackman Joey Sellers has committed to studying at and playing ball with the Division III Elizabethtown College Blue Jays and Coach Terry Corcoran.
Joey will bring his great work ethic as well as great speed and quickness off the edge to Elizabethtown. Joey will create problems for Elizabethtown opponents with his ability to breakdown the first defender and finish swiftly and strong to the cage.
Congratulations Joey!
Joey writes: I want to thank you so much for all of the work that you put in to Blue Mountain. I know that it is a very time consuming job, and I could not think of anyone else who would be better for the job. Thank you so much for helping me improve my game, on and off of the field. I will cherish all of the good memories that I have had while playing Blue Mountain as well as all of the friends that I have made.
Outstanding Penn Manor and Blue Mountain defender Alex Cummins has committed to Florida Tech. Alex will join the Division II Florida Tech Panthers and Coach Ryan McAleavey at FIT, majoring in Marine Biology in the Fall of 2012.
Penn Manor's Alex Cummins was a dominating defender at the 2011 PA Keystone Games, and led our defensive unit shutting down and taking away the ball from our opponent's best attackman. Alex's performance all summer was outstanding including leading a great Champ Camp defensive unit and dominating the Keystone Games!
Congratulations Alex!
Stellar Ephrata goaltender Brian Neff commits to attending Ursinus College with Division III Bears.
Brian helped the 2011 U19 Blue Mountain Premier team to a great Champ Camp run, and guided our PA Keystones Games Championship team to the Gold Medal with his MVP performance.
Brian is the ultimate team player and his dedication and work ethic is something that Ursinus College will enjoy for the next four years!
Congratulations Brian!
Brian writes: My parents and I cannot express how grateful we are to you for the opportunity to be involved in Blue Mountain. What I have learned from you and the other coaches involved in Blue Mountain has made me a better player each year and has allowed me the opportunity to play in college. I know I will miss Blue Mountain greatly as well as all the friends I have made throughout my years with the program. As much as I missed playing tournaments this Fall, I knew I was close to making my decision and wanted to give players who have not found their school yet an opportunity, just as others before me gave me that chance to play in the Fall. I leave knowing I left on a high note winning Keystones this year!
Ephrata attackman Josh Frey has committed to studying at and playing for the Eagles of Bridgewater College. Josh's game has improved steadily the past few years and he has made significant strides this summer when he became a player the other team had to account for on the lacrosse field. Expect to see a great senior varisty season from Josh!
Josh writes: Thank you for everything that you have done over the past few years for me. You helped form me into the lacrosse player I am today and made me a true team player. I am currently committed to Bridgewater College, located in Virginia, to play for the Eagles next year.
I will be playing for Coach Mic Grant as a first year program, but look to be a top competitor in the ODAC. I am majoring in Biology and a minor in Environmental Science.
Just wanted to say thank you again, from my parents and I on how you improved by lacrosse fundamentals to be able to play at the collegiate level!
Best wishes Josh and congratulations!
CJ Bosch, all District III and LL League midfielder from Hempfield, has verbally committed to UMBC.
CJ's performance at the 2011 PA Keystone Games was outstanding, and his ability to help create and finish offensive opportunities helped make this team a solid team.
CJ was third in scoring on his HS team this year posting 72 goals and 29 assists.
Congratulations CJ!
Township's Chase Miller is joining 2011 teammate Robbie Wertz and teammate and brother Quint at Jacksonville University.
Chase is an exceptional talent, equally at home as a midfielder or attackman as a scorer or feeder, is a superb face off player, and can play defense with an equally tough demeanor and intensity.
Chase helped his 2010 Blue Mtn Lacrosse team to a Gold Medal, and simply was an invaluable member of Blue Mtn's Keystone Games Gold Medal team success.
Congratulations Chase!
