Ethan Rettew, Conestoga Valley HS Goalkeeper, is headed to St. Joseph's of Maine to major in history and secondary education as well as play lacrosse.

Hempfield Goalie John Black is headed to Gwynned Mercy College!


John was a former attackman for Hempfield and is very comfortable playing outside the goal-crease area.

Hempfield's stellar goalie John Black is going to school at Gwynned-Mercy College this Fall. 

John turned in incredible performances throughout the 2011 Spring season, including a spectacular game in the State PIAA quarterfinals vs State Champion Conestoga, and was instrumental in the team's success this past season.

Two and half years ago, after John was recovering from a knee injury and was watching the Super Bowl at our house, I asked John if he would consider the move to goalie.  John responded by saying yes, but more importantly, he got started the next morning and never stopped working on his new position!

Penn Manor's 2011 All American Jaquan Presbury Heads to Hood College


Hood College and Stevenson University join the MAC conference for 2012

Penn Manor's All American LSM Jaquan Presbury is headed to Hood College.  Jaquan helped his 2010 Blue Mountain U19 team to a Gold Medal at the PA Keystone Games.  Jaquan will bring tons of speed and aggressiveness to the Hood College Blazers.

Holy Name Senior Midfielder David Waligurski has selected Goucher College!


David will join Blue Mtn Alums LCD's Bryce Carson and Gov. Mifflin's Jason Bram.

Reading Holy Name's David Waligurski has selected Goucher College to attend school and play lacrosse.  David is an excellent face off player, who can play midfield as a superb defender or offensive midfielder.

Holy Name senior defenseman/LSM Alex Phillippi has committed to play Division III lacrosse at Gwynedd Mercy College.

Phillippi, a consistent Honor Roll, student, plans to dual major in mathematics and education at the college. “Coaches Lindstrom and (Mickey) Hover are great, they really care about the student in student-athlete. That was really important to me and my family,” said Phillippi. “I liked the small school atmosphere when I visited. The players were great, they all get along together really well.”

“Our goal is to make the playoffs,” said Phillippi. “We only lost one senior from the varsity and have a lot of young players with good skills coming in.”

Phillippi also plays club lacrosse for Blue Mountain. “I’d like to thank Coach Doug Bailey and all the coaches at Blue Mountain for helping me develop as a player and person,” said Phillippi. “There are a number of players from the team going on to play Division I or Division III in college. It was a great experience”.

Phillippi is the fifth Philly senior to commit to Gwynedd Mercy.

Cape Henry Collegiate's Colin Corcoran selects Elizabethtown College!


Elizabethtown Blue Jays: Go Jays!

Cape Henry Collegiate HS and 2010 Blue Mountain newcomer Colin Corcoran, attack, has selected Elizabethtown College for his post highschool studies. 

Colin was a versatile player with Blue Mountain, playing midfield and facing off with tons of success as he honed his skills facing the cage vs from behind the cage.

Colin will join his Blue Jay "brothers" Shawn and Brendan.

Township's Jake Weber chooses Ursinus College!

Jake Weber, Manheim Township, has selected Ursinus College as his choice to study to secondary education and play lacrosse. 

Jake was an instrumental in helping his 2010 Blue Mtn team to the Gold medal, anchoring the teams face off play and lending his superb versatility as both an offensive threat and a defensive stalwart.

Jake is the third 'Weber' to head into college not only to study, but with the intent to play college lacrosse.  Luke (Widener), Aaron (Elizabethtown) and now Jacob (Ursinus) have given their mom and dad much to be proud of both on and off the field!

Lancaster Mennonite's Zach Lare is headed to Concordia University!

Defenseman Zach Lare has chosen to attend Concordia University, Wisconsin of the Midwest Lacrosse Conference.   Currently Division III Concordia University, Wisconsin is 6-1, and is leading their conference!

Zach wrote, "Coach Jeff Roberts saw me play at Ultimate Performance Lacrosse Tournament and that's how they recruited me.  I am planning on going into secondary education for a major. 

I just wanted to thank you for the work you do with Blue Mountain, there is no way I would have been playing in college without all of the tournaments we went to."

Warwick's Thomas Pontius selects Chestnut Hill!

The fast-footed, compact and powerhouse midfielder Thomas Pontius from Warwick has selected to attend school and play lacrosse at Chestnut Hill College.

On the field, Thomas presents defenders tons of problems, because of his speed, quick and strong change of direction, as well as his superior strength.

Hempfield's Ryan Bailey commits to Florida Tech University!


Ryan led Hempfield scorers in the 2010 League (5 pts) and District Championships (4 pts)

Ryan has selected Florida Tech University to attend college majoring in Marine Biology.  The Florida Tech Panthers, led by Coach McAleavey (Dowling College; MLL: New Jersey Pride), embark on their inaugural Division II lacrosse schedule in the Fall of 2011, and the Spring of 2012. 

Ryan helped the 2010 Hempfield squad to a LL Section, League and District III Championship, and the 2010 Blue Mountain U19 team to a Gold Medal at the PA Keystone Games Championships.

Ryan was second in scoring on his 2011 Hempfield team posting 112 pts., with 24 goals and 88 assists.  Ryan played 6 weeks with a broken hand; four weeks in cast.

Hempfield's Josh Beals commits to Lycoming College!

Congratulations Josh!  Josh had a stellar year with his 2010 Hempfield squad, helping to solidfy a stalwart defense, and a championship Gold Rush in the both the LL Championship and District III Championship.

Josh also led the 2010 PA Keystone Games U19 team to a Gold Medal performance.  His leadership and incredible defensive effort helped Blue Mountain win it's third Gold Medal in five years.


Penn Manor's Connor Rowe selects Elizabethtown College

Penn Manor's leading scorer and attackman Connor Rowe is headed to Elizabethtown College.  Connor brings great speed and quickness to Elizabethtown College as well as a superb work ethic.

Penn Manor's Spencer Barnett chooses Frostburg State

Lefty midfielder and all around great athlete Spencer Barnett is headed to Frostburg State.  Spencer is a great transition midfielder (meaning he plays defense and offense with confidene, and runs the entire field well) whose left hand shot is simply lethal as an offensive midfielder.  Spencer had a great tournament for Blue Mountain's 2010 Keystone Games Championship effort.

Township's Mark Stratton commits to Ursinus

Manheim Township senior midfielder Mark Stratton has committed to play Division III lacrosse at Ursinus College.

Stratton was an All-District 3 and Lancaster Lebanon League pick last year for the Blue Streaks, who went 22-5 and reached the semifinals of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) tournament for the second straight year.

Stratton plans to major in History at Urisinus, coached by Jamie Steele.

Penn Manor's Zach Campbell selects Virginia Wesleyan

Zach has accepted at Virginia Wesleyan College in Norfolk, VA.  Zach writes, "I'm excited to play lacrosse in the ODAC Conference.  Go Marlins! VWC seems like a great fit for me.  It is close to the beach and I will get a great education.  I will be majoring in Environmental Studies."

Zach continues, "I would like to thank my Blue Mountain coaches for helping me with this opportunity. I have had many good experiences and memories playing with Blue Mountain.  I would encourage others kids work hard in the off season and work their hardest to achieve their goals."

Red Lion's Brendan Kessler: Hobart College

Brendan Kessler, midfield/attack has made a verbal committment to Hobart College to play lacrosse and attend school there in the Fall of 2011. 

*More details to come as Brendan is finding he is also getting recruited seriously for football.

Hempfield's Michael Ondrusek selects Bucknell University


Michael's 85 points in 2010 led Hempfield's potent offense.

Hempfield's four year starting attackman, Michael Ondrusek, has been accepted and will be attending Bucknell University in the Fall of 2011.  Michael's outstanding academic record over his four years of high school and his excellent lacrosse ability have given him a great opportunity at Bucknell University. 

Michael teamed with an great group of attackman at the PA Keystone Games and had a fantastic Keystone Games effort, helping his Blue Mtn team to the 2010 Gold medal.

Hempfield Captain Michael Ondrusek led his team with 140 points, 111 goals and 29 assists.  Michael was also named All-League, All District III and earned HS All American in both 2010 and 2011.

Red Lion's Joe Patterson selects York College

Joe has been accepted to York College and has a position on their lacrosse team for next year, plus was awarded an academic scholarship. He is not decided on a major as of yet, but Joe is leaning towards sports management or engineering.

Jacksonville University selects Township's Quint Miller

After leading his 2010 Blue Mtn PA Keystone Games team to the the Gold Medal championship, Quint adds another accomplishment to his resume.  He will be attending Jacksonville University to major in marketing and play intercollegiate lacrosse.

Quint's 5 goal performance in the PA Keystone Games Championship capped a great overall performance.

Warwick's Blaine Schaffner chooses LaRoche College

Blaine Schaffner, midfield/attack has committed to La Roche College in Pittsburgh, PA.  Blaine will receive an academic scholarship and will start in the fall of 2011.

MT's Robby Wertz chooses Jacksonville University!

Hot off the presses:  Standout midfielder Robby Wertz, MT midfielder, has committed to Jacksonville University.  Robby's great athleticism and speed help make him one of the most dangerous midfielders in the state.

Robby had a incredible Keystone Games, and was simply an invaluable part of the team's Championship effort this summer.

Bucknell chooses MT's Alex Bradbury

Manheim Township midfielder/attackman Alex Bradbury verbally commits to Bucknell University. Head Coach Fedoraka finalized his thoughts on Alex during the 2010 PA Keystone Games as he observed Alex's abilities and team play, and offered Alex a spot in the 2011 recruting class at Bucknell University. 

Congratulations to Alex.  What some of you may not know is how good a student Alex is.  It's a very difficult chore to earn the achievement to get into Bucknell University.  Alex's hard work in the classroom during his entire high school experience is the critical difference that made this opportunity even possible.
